UPDL, by virtue of its distinguished minds in town planning, architecture, and engineering design; has carved a niche in framing the customized, technology-focused, and environment-friendly Building and Zoning By-laws for different cities and townships in Pakistan. We have the honor to contribute significantly to farming the Islamabad Capital Territory Building Control Regulations-2020 and Modalities and Procedures for the Development of Private Housing/Farm Housing Schemes in the Federal Capital Islamabad. The formulation of Building and Zoning By-laws for the first Technopolis of Pakistan i.e. Islamabad Technopolis is another feather in UPDL’s cap.

 

The basic aims of the Building and Zoning By-laws are that facilities are located, designed, and constructed in such a way that any threat to the life, health, and welfare of its occupants and the public is minimized/prevented substantially. The driving force behind our formulation strategy has been to enhance the human environment with an inspired, creative, and rational design that respects the past while enlightening the prospective future. It is always shaped around essential principles of client satisfaction and the production of thoughtful and well-articulated building design. Our focus remains to create a built environment that could be instrumental in achieving the overall objective of the Master Plan.

Green/low carbon emission buildings, creation of a healthy environment, enhanced individual human health, thermal comfort, resource efficiency, optimize energy performance, water recycling, rainwater storage, less energy consumption, low maintenance cost, building automation, use of environmentally friendly and sustainable construction material, use of renewable energy, and disaster-resilient buildings have been the important highlights of our all framed Regulations.
